Short bio:

Lazaros Nalpantidis is Professor of Autonomous Systems at the Department of Electrical and Photonics Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Lazaros also serves as Head of the Automation and Control Group and Head of Studies for the DTU's MSc programme in Autonomous Systems.

Before joining DTU, Lazaros was Associate Professor of Robotics at Aalborg University Copenhagen, Denmark, where he also served as Head of Section for Sustainable Production within the Department for Materials and Production. He has been a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Autonomous Systems (CAS), Computer Vision & Active Perception Lab. (CVAP) of the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden. Sweden. Lazaros organized and chaired the 10th International Conference on Computer Vision Systems (ICVS 2015) in Copenhagen, co-organized various workshops on Cognitive Robotics, and has served as editor and guest editor in various journals on robotics and robot vision. He has been involved in numerous research projects funded by the European Commission, European Space Agency, as well as Greek, Swedish and Danish states. Lazaros' research is in the area of autonomous systems, robot perception and machine learning.

June 2022 :
I have been promoted to Professor and assumed the ledearhip of our Automation and Control Group at DTU!

April 2019 :
I continue my career at DTU (Technical University of Denmark), where I moved together with other excellent colleagues!

January 2018 :
I assumed the role of Head of Section for our "Sustainable Production" Section in Aalborg University Copenhagen.

Ocober 2017 :
We organized our Agricultural Robotics: learning from Industry 4.0 and moving into the future (AGROB 2017), within IROS 2017 in Vancouver, Canada.

January 2016 :
Our DockWeeder project on robotic solutions for precision farming has been funded by ICT-Agri.

December 2015 :
The special issue on "Cognitive Robotics Systems: Concepts and Applications" that we prepared as guest-editors is now published by the Journal of Intelligent & Robotic Systems.

July 2015 :
I organized and chaired ICVS 2015 in Copenhagen.

November 2013 :
We organized our "2nd International Workshop on Cognitive Robotics Systems: Replicating Human Actions and Activities (CRS 2013)", within IROS 2013 in Tokyo, Japan.

October 2013 :
Our STAMINA FP7 project has been funded.

November 2013 :
We organized our "1st International Workshop on Cognitive Assistive Systems: Closing the Action-Perception Loop (CAS 2012)", within IROS 2012 in Vilamoura, Portugal.
